Tamriel Rebuilt
Right. If some of you guys haven't played this, do so: Tamriel Rebuilt
It's an effort by a group of modders to place the whole of the province of Morrowind into Elder Scrolls III. So far everything in the Telvannis district is placed, and it's pretty awesome. Only about a third of the quests are done, but it really revitalizes the experience to have new content. It's like playing Morrowind for the first time all over again.
Writing and environment design is all on par with the original game. Has a very consistent feel.
Don't visit their forums though, it's full of fags who are ANGRY ABOUT ELDER SCROLLS

I dunno. I have the odd compulsion to poach some of their members for work on this project, although they're not really as easy-going as I would like. They seem like the folks who would play tabletop games, and might have some good ideas. I am worried that there will be a bit of a personality clash, though, especially with some of their more self-important members.
Re: Tamriel Rebuilt
Yeah, most of them know their stuff. Just some of them are a little...high strung.
Could probably work with anyone but Sload though. If he joins I'll of course have to edit this out of my post out of fear that he'll come to my house and shoot me.

I've never gone to their forums, and the way you describe them I'm not too keen to start now. How high strung and insane are we talking here?
I've not downloaded the mods yet either, I was kind of hoping to wait until they get more finished. They do look unbelievably awesome so far though.

Not so much high strung as much as serious. I mean, the thread on Necrom is neat, but they are brutal about detail and lore. Which, when you're trying to make a hyper-accurate expansion to a pretty lore-heavy computer game, is good. But man are they intense.
I would like them to be aware of our project, and get their blessing for using/modifying bits of their world to work on the tabletop (Necrom and Almelexia both sound like they're going to be baaaaad-asssssss).

Oh yeah, those Ordinators in Mourning scare me. Especially with the fluff /tg/ was throwing around about them being completely silent, except for the whispering sounds of spirits that you hear in tombs. I know that stuff probably isn't accurate, they're just fancy holy guards, but still.
Also, we should wait to bring it up with them until we get something more substantial done, I'd say. If they are as serious as you call them, they somewhat frighten me. Perhaps the UESP wiki's forums though, how are those?

Re: Tamriel Rebuilt
A lot of them have a tendency of, when someone broaches an idea they don't like, saying "No, you're stupid. Go to hell." instead of actually saying why they don't like it.
But this is the internet after all.

Considering our fa/tg/uy roots, I don't think we can get TOO self-righteous about that sort of thing...

Fa/tg/uys do it in a humorous way, even when they're dead serious. There's no trace of humor here. They take themselves totally seriously and deviating from their own perception of the series is heresy.

Re: Tamriel Rebuilt
Ironic then that everything they are doing is technically noncanon and "heresy". Probably shouldn't remind them of that though, huh?

How odd. Heresy mentioned twice with nary a commissar or inquisitor in sight...
In all seriousness, I would like to get some more done before we start going and parading our accomplishments to everyone, especially people who are so SRSBZNS.

I want the next release of this so bad. I gotta see Necrom.
Dunno why they're working on Dres stuff that won't be released for years (if ever, project will probably be dead by then) instead of trying to actually get a working release going by focusing on stuff that's almost done.

The same reason we were working on ADVANCED SKILLS when we still haven't solidified combat rules yet.
What a grand and intoxicating innocence.
